England manager Roy Hodgson has delayed naming his squad for the Euro 2016 qualifiers against San Marino and Switzerland until after next weekend’s Premier League matches.
The 68-year-old had planned to announce his selection on Tuesday, but will now wait until Sunday.
Hodgson’s side visit San Marino on 5 September and host Switzerland three days later.
Four points will secure qualification to next summer’s tournament in France.
Hodgson said: “We have a large of number of players that still need confirming regarding availability and fitness.
“Rather than selecting a larger squad now, we will wait for the games at the weekend before choosing around 23 players who are definitely available.”
